This year, the Ort Family has selected Atlantic Health System’s Goryeb Children’s Hospital to be the beneficiary of a portion of proceeds from their corn maze. The maze design features the words “Goryeb Children’s Hospital” alongside the hospital’s iconic “dancing child” logo. The family approached representatives of the hospital in the spring with the idea for the maze, knowing how many young children and adolescences in Long Valley receive care from the hospital.

Ort Farms started working with non-profit companies in 2014, after Hurricane Sandy when they made a “Stronger than the Storm” maze. After that, they’ve worked with several non-profits including The Seeing Eye and Farmers Against Hunger.

“We like to give back to the community and show our support for our local non-profits, we’ve always been community centered and this is another way for us to help spread awareness and have a unique design each year”, says Harvey Ort Jr, 5th generation farmer on the farm.

Ort Farms celebrated their 100th Anniversary last year, and they’ve been operating their Pick Your Own Pumpkin and Corn maze festival since the mid-1980s. This year’s partnership offers some very unique opportunities, including a Go Pro video tour of the maze and “fall fest” celebration for the children at the hospital who can’t attend the maze.

The corn maze is open daily from September 9-November 5 and hours are 9-6 pm. The farm also offers hayrides, pick your own pumpkins, food vendors, train rides, farm animals and monster truck rides during their fall festival.
